NDA - 25thAnniversary

NDA in front of a red double decker bus

In September 2007 NDA had a lot to celebrate and it did so with a high profile event in the county. The event marked the joint 25th anniversaries of two leading disability organisations in Northamptonshire, NDA and the Employment And Disability Service (EADS). It was organised by NDA and EADS with the generous support of partners Ford Motor Company (Daventry) and Sundial UK (Highgate House).

Invited guests included business leaders from across and beyond the county who heard about the work of NDA and EADS and how they can benefit from the services of NDA and EADS for their businesses. The guests also heard about the new NDA ESF/LSC funded project 'INCA' to increase support for dyslexic people in the county. Information packs and CDs were given to guests.

Pictured above are members of the Northamptonshire Dyslexia Association Committee which include Sue Griffiths, Chris Berridge, Sue Winpenny, Sue Baylis and Caroline Bilbie and also Bernard Quinn, NDA Consultant - as driver of the Highgate House bus! The bus was a key feature of the NDA/EADS 25th Anniversary Event - "Retain & Gain" - and was held at Highgate House on 26 September home of the Chudley family owners of Highgate House and the internationally acclaimed company Sundial UK. They have several family members with dyslexia and their journey to the US many many years ago on a London bus was a feature of an old Gaumont News film which guests found highly entertaining.
